Our Team

Every Student is a Teacher

In medicine, peer-to-peer teaching is a reality. All participants will inevitably share their new skills with others. We strive to equip them to be effective peer mentors and to nurture new instructors in a supportive team environment. The lines between student and teacher are blurry. Our students give visiting faculty valuable insights into the clinical context and challenges in practice in resource limited settings. They teach us to be better teachers. The roles change over time. In our program, we have had Canadians who certify in POCUS in Africa and then return to the program as volunteers, and Canadian volunteers who teach at a course, only to return as students to another course. Residents teach staff and nurses teach doctors. Team teaching is an integral part of our faculty building process. Every participant is a member of the CPoCUS Outreach family.
